In this concept album exclusively made up of 16 instrumental tracks, Scieur Z makes us drift into sometimes psychedelic, melancholic or even worrying worlds...Here SCIEUR Z explores the infinite possibilities of its two favourite instruments, the Guitare-Cello (Scieur Z's hybrid instrument mixing electric guitar with viola de gamba), and his electrified musical saw.That is especially true when the sounds of the musical saw are superimposed and harmonized to form a polyphony, and create a pattern in which flight of lyricism and intimist melodies blend.
Sometimes they even compete with the shrilling complaints of the Guitar-cello, leading to moods full of surprises, with instrumental versions of special tracks, and plays built up for what he likes to call his «imaginary films» («Railway Bridges» with «Train de vie»)...
And if you had to situate his work, you would perhaps look at the parting of the ways leading to Yann Tiersen, Mike Oldfield, Cascadeur, Philip Glass, Robert Wyatt, Brian Eno, or King Crimson.
The art of swimming in the depths, in troubled water among whale songs, the swaying of the sawfish and the call of the mermaids.


Concept-album composé uniquement de musiques instrumentales, celui-ci développe seize titres aux univers tantôt planants, mélancoliques ou même parfois inquiétants... SCIEUR Z explore ici les possibilités infinies de ses deux instruments de prédilection, la guitare-cello (Hybride entre guitare électrique et viole de gambe) et la scie musicale électrifiée. Cela est particulièrement vrai lorsque les sons de la scie musicale sont superposés et harmonisés pour former une polyphonie, dans laquelle lyrisme et mélodies intimistes se mêlent. Parfois ils rivalisent même avec les plaintes stridentes de la Guitare-cello... Ceux-ci sont explorés dans leurs aspects les plus inattendus, induisant des atmosphères pleines de surprises, avec des morceaux de choix revisités en versions instrumentales, ou encore des pièces spécialement conçues pour des " films imaginaires" («Ponts ferroviaires» avec «Train de vie»)...
Et s'il fallait absolument établir des rapprochements, on devrait peut-être chercher quelque part entre Yann TIERSEN, Mike OLDFIELD, CASCADEUR, Philip GLASS, Robert WYATT, Brian ENO, ou encore KING CRIMSON.
L'art de nager dans les profondeurs, en eau trouble au milieu des chants de baleines, l'ondulation des poissons-scies et l'appel des sirènes...
